Shramdaan 2026: 10,000 kg of Waste Cleared as 250+ Volunteers Turn Republic Day into Baddi’s ‘Achievement Day’

Baddi, Himachal Pradesh: February 1, 2026

While the nation celebrated Republic Day with patriotic fervour, Baddi chose a powerful form of tribute, transforming the day into an “Achievement Day” through a massive cleanliness drive under Shramdaan 2026.

In a single day, over 10,000 kilograms of waste was cleared through the collective efforts of 250+ dedicated volunteers, marking the first mega milestone of the campaign.

The drive commenced at the New Sabzi Mandi, where volunteers adopted a behaviour-led, participatory approach. Instead of enforcement or reprimands, the team led by example—sweeping streets, cleaning shopfronts, and collecting waste alongside vendors and residents.

At the heart of the initiative “My Waste, My Responsibility” lies a simple yet powerful philosophy to keep the surrounding clean and make it better place to live.

The campaign was led on ground by Ms. Sonakshi Tomar, IAS, CEO, Baddi Barotiwala Nalagarh Development Authority (BBNDA), whose active participation and leadership inspired widespread community engagement.

Students from Chitkara University participated with enthusiasm, while House of Engagements and the Global Youth Federation provided crucial operational and volunteer support, ensuring smooth execution of the drive.

The organizers emphasized that Shramdaan 2026 is not a one-day event, but the beginning of a sustained movement aimed at embedding cleanliness as a shared civic culture—across industries, institutions, and communities. The vision is to position Baddi among India’s cleanest and most responsible industrial hubs.

A large mass clean drive is planner in Feb 2026 at Baddi. To become a volunteer, please give a miss call on +91 70878 68837
