Delhi based young and talented Sree Bandyopadhyay performed in baithak
The music lovers of city beautiful were treated to a scintillating Dance presentation by promising Kathak danseuse Sree Bandyopadhyay on the occasion of the 299th Monthly Baithak Programme organized by Pracheen Kala Kendra which was organized at M.L. Koser Indoor Auditorium at PKK, 35 complex at 6:30 pm here today.
Today’s artist Sree Bandyopadhyay is a Kathak dancer and working as a professional from last 10 years. Initially she started her training under the guidance of Guru Sandip Mallick in Kolkata. After that she completed her Post diploma from Kathak Kendra New Delhi under the guidance of Guru Pt Jai Kishan Maharaj ji and she is continuing her talim under him .A master degree holder from Indira Kala Sangeet Vishwavidyalaya. She is a grade B Doordarshan artist and a Spicmacy empanelled artist. She is the founder of SAADHNA -School of Kathak . She has gifted with graceful expressions and movements.
After an introduction and welcome by Kendra’s Deputy Registrar Dr. Samira Koser the enthusiastic Shree commenced with Dhrupad composition based on Chautaal with bols “Kunjan mein racho raas” . Her next rendering was a traditional pieces of kathak in Ashtamangal 11 matra followed by technical parts Vilambit, Uthan, chalan, Paran Aamad, Tripalli, Premelu, Tehai(mridanga yati), Paran (Anagaat) end with 33 chakkar followed by a Thumri composition based on Teentaal (Raag Megh Malhar). In the concluding segment, she presented compositions based on Teentaal, which included Vadya Paran, Bijli Paran, Tehai, Badaiya Paran, and concluded with beautiful Laykaari.” Her fine footwork and Bhav, Abhinay, expressions and knowledge of the rhythm and taal has drawn encomiums from both audience and art critics alike. Fine team of accompanists Ustad Shakeel Ahmed Khan on Tabla, Lavnya Ambade (Sitar) ,Atul Devesh (Vocal) and Jaya Bhatt (Padant) provided support in the success of the concert.
