“World Environment Day”
Every year the month of June is celebrated as “World Environment Day” to keep our planet as well as country eco-friendly for healthy living but, especially, the conditions in our country are worsening day by day. We always talk of planting trees to preserve greenery and on the other hand we are too much busy in new construction work like new buildings roads etc and in the process we start removing green cover. One would say that do these new roads and buildings are not required for us? Of course yes they are very much required to accommodate the ever growing population. Therefore, the actual problem is the population which is growing by leaps and bounds every passing day and to accommodate it we are bound to remove green cover and If it keeps on growing at this
present pace then from where we will get land and water to plant more trees to GO GREEN. Is this i not a funny thing that we are first removing green cover then struggling to GO GREEN? In fact, the real problem or we may say that the root cause of all the problems like scarcity of water which is direct result of destruction of forest area resulting in drying of water bodies is because of our big population and lack of education to more than 70% citizens. So, according to my opinion we will have to take the following steps at war footing and at larger Indian
scale….
1.Population control programme should be on top of our National Agenda.
2.Spread Education and make it compulsory up to plus 2 level by providing
0 t f provi ding free cost to the under privileged.
3.Do not allow the remaining green cover to be removed for any type of construction work. I am sure this will help us more than we have ever thought of it.
4.As usual plant more trees specially of medicinal values.
